H+J wanted to throw a big party to celebrate their wedding with friends. They had a strong aesthetic vision for the event, channeling something in between Studio 54 and a Persian teahouse. They wanted to incorporate a ceremonial element that connected to their cultural heritage, and they wanted to work with venues and vendors that reflected their values and community.
We created a cohesive aesthetic for the event that started with a record the couple was inspired by, and turned it into a visual theme for the Save the Dates, invites and wedding website, as well as the event itself.
Following extensive research, we crafted a ceremony that blended ancient and modern Persian rituals, creating a moment of meaning and celebration in absence of traditional wedding vows. This included the construction of an altar, poetry readings, incense burning, and knot tying.
We were able to stay within their budget by thrifting all of the decor and leveraging our collection of private event decor including 10+ rugs, votives, vases, and more. The items we no longer needed after the event were gifted to local couples and organizations.
